Martin timing pulleys are manufactured to extremely close specifications and are stocked in minimum plain bore, taper bushed, QD bushed styles depending on size and pitch. Synchronous sprockets are non-slip toothed drives that require no lubrication. These sprockets have a wide speed range, are very efficient and make less noise than chain drives. Teeth on the belts are molded to conform with and engage the teeth on a mating sprocket.

QD (quick detachable)is a sprocket where a tapered bushing is bolted into the taper bore that is machined in the sprocket. When installed this bushing is compressed onto the shaft providing a tight grip.

A plates are flat sprockets with no hub extension on either side. They can be altered for your application with bolt holes, custom bores, hardened teeth or special hubs welded to them.

Martin idlers are smooth-running and available in oil-impregnated, sintered bronze, extra-duty bearing press-fitted in sprocket and a hardened steel journal case for maximum resistance to wear. Steel sprockets used in Martin idlers are accurately machined (not stamped) the same as sprockets normally supplied for power transmission use. Martin can also alter existing sprockets and install bearings to make custom idlers.

These finished bore sprockets are shaft ready and come complete with keyways and setscrews. The keyways are on center line of the tooth. Bored to size sprockets with 1/2 in bores and smaller are stocked with (2) setscrews only.

Roller chain couplings have a torque capacity in excess of the torque normally transmitted by shafting which falls within the coupling bore range. Select the smallest coupling, which will accommodate both shafts. For a reversing operation, shock or pulsating loads, or other severe operating conditions, select the next larger coupling size. A cover should be used to assure maximum service life, particularly if the coupling operates at high speeds or under moist conditions. For proper lubrication, fill the space between the cover and the coupling with soft to medium consistency coupling grease. Many finished bore sizes available as well as stock bore blanks that can be altered. Chains, covers stocked in all branch locations. All stock roller chain couplings have hardened teeth.

Single Head Open End Wrenches (also referred to as ā€œEngineer’sā€ wrenches) are drop forged from steel bar. They are available in fractional sizes only from 1/2ā€ through 5ā€.These are special purpose single end wrenches with an extra thick 15 degree angled opening designed for heavy industrial service. 1-13/16ā€ and larger sizes have a tapered handle. They come in an industrial black finish.

Shear pin sprockets provide simple, dependable protection against expensive machinery damage caused by overloads or jamming. Torque is transmitted by a single pin, necked to shear when the safe load is exceeded. When an overload occurs the pin shears, disconnecting the drive immediately. Shear pins can be necked to customer specific torque ratings.

Conveyor coupling shafts are used to join individual lengths of conveyor screws and allow for rotation within the hanger bearing. Steel couplings are normally furnished, however couplings with hardened bearing surfaces may be furnished where highly abrasive materials are being conveyed. Jig drilling allows for ease of installation.

Nylatron bearings are used as support bearings for drive and screw conveyor shafts. This self-lubricating hanger bearing can withstand temperatures up to 250 deg F and is compatible with 220 and 19B style hangers. It is recommended for grain, feed and chemical handling applications due the very low load capacity attribute.

Wood bearings are used as support bearings for drive and screw conveyor shafts. It is self-lubricating and able to withstand temperatures up to 160 deg F. This style bearing is ideal for intermediate hangers that convey moderately abrasive materials as well as grain, feed and fertilizer applications.

Martin double strand solid construction sprockets have proper spacing between chain rows. The sprockets are manufactured from high carbon steel. Martin does not stack "A" plates on multiples, but instead Martin machines teeth after the chain rows are already in place. These plain bore sprockets can easily be bored to a metric or standard size to fit your application. Keyways, set screws and hardened teeth are quick alterations that can be made.

Hi-CapĀ® sheaves (narrow V-belts) are manufactured from class 30 gray iron (30,000 tensile strength) and can have a maximum speed of 6500 fpm. All Martin sheaves are statically balanced. Dynamic balancing should be considered for any sheaves exceeding 5000 fpm, or if they will be used on equipment where vibration is a problem. Martin has extensive inventories of both QD and TB style V-belt sheaves to run with 3V, 5V, and 8V belts.
