The element eliminates metal-to-metal contact and acts as a shock absorber. The design is fail-safe in that it will perform if the element fails. Sealmaster® RPB mounted tapered roller bearings are a dimensionally interchangeable upgrade from competitive Type E bearings. The exclusive features include unitized replaceable inserts, self aligning capability, split housing and the Sealmaster® alignment pin which provides for a direct path for lubrication into the bearing and helps prevent outer ring rotation. The Sealmaster® RPB is available with two traditional setscrew locking collars for easy installation. The felt seal with flinger provides a good balance between contaminant entry, grease retention and friction. Depending on application requirements, these bearings are available in both inch and metric with a wide variety of housing, sealing and lubrication options.
