BBI 042444 Partially Threaded Cap Screw, 5/8-11, 3-1/2 in L Under Head, 8 Grade, Alloy Steel, Zinc Yellow Bake CR+6

The principle of a variable pitch sheave is that the threaded angular faced discs forming the V-shaped groove in which the belt rides are movable. VP sheaves consist of a male with a threaded barrel, and a female with a threaded bore. The male section with threaded barrel has flat surfaces at 180 deg increments that allow a flat surface for the setscrew to mate with. When the discs are moved toward each other, the belt rides higher in the groove and the pitch diameter of the sheave is larger which increases the driven speed. When the discs are moved away from each other, the belt rides lower and the pitch diameter is smaller decreasing the driven speed. The common term for this speed adjustment is called number of turns open from closed position.

The Browning® torque limiter is a spring loaded friction style torque overload device. The load on the friction pads is adjusted so that the process torque is transmitted. An overload torque in excess of the set torque causes the unit to slip. This prevents overloads from transmitting through the system. When the load falls below the set level, the torque limiter stops slipping and transmits the torque. A torque limiter does not maintain phase between input and output. Although it is a similar size, the Browning® torque limiter has a higher torque density than the Morse® torque limiter. It is also well suited for applications that trip infrequently at high loads. It is most often used in a chain drive. A specially machined sprocket is inserted between the friction pads and acts as the slip interface. Torque capacity is up to 8800 in-lb.

KEN FORGING K2030 Fully Threaded Shoulder Pattern Eye Bolt, 1-8, 2-1/2 in L Shank, Drop Forged Carbon Steel, Self-Colored

The single-row angular contact ball bearing was designed to support radial, axial or composite loads, however, the axial load must be in one direction. The high thrust capacity is achieved by a higher shoulder on one side of the outer ring. The direction of the load through the balls forms the contact angle. The thrust capacity increases with the contact angle. The BMU bearings are commonly referred to as thrust bearings. These bearings have a 40 deg contact angle to accept heavy axial loads. The bearings have Universally Flush Ground rings to facilitate mounting in multiple bearing sets. The inner and outer rings have identical widths. These bearings can be mounted as DB, DF and DT pairs or can be combined into triplex and quadraplex sets. When two bearings are mounted together, a clearance or preload may be obtained without the use of shims or spacers. This bearing has a machined brass cage and is not available with seals or shields. These bearings are most commonly used in vertical pump and motor applications.
