This IRWIN Power Drill I-100 Auger Drill Bit has a solid-center design to provide added rigidity while boring. The wide lands on these drill bits keep the bit straight as it bores through the hole. The flutes are ground behind the lands to funnel chips to the inside of the auger bit and away from the outside diameter, producing a faster, cleaner cut. Each step drill bit has a single-spur cutting edge that scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish. These IRWIN drill bits have a full-length heat treatment to guard against bending in heavy-duty applications.
